Marina Alaeva (b. 1983) is a Russian painter who lives and works in Izhevsk, an industrial city. She worked as an architect until 2020. Currently Marina is freelance artist. Her fictional landscapes are free of humans and their destructive influence. In her artwork, nature gains agency and the sacred powers it possesses become evident. These highly charged but contemplative spaces are Marina’s visual prayer to the natural world and are intended as a response to our chaotic and violent world.
