We are always open for submissions; all submissions will be considered for the current issue, the theme of which is posted following the release of the previous issue. Issues are released seasonally.
Please include a short third-person bio in all submissions. A cover letter is appreciated, but not required.
Please refrain from sending works containing explicit themes, extreme profanity, or otherwise inappropriate content. We reserve the right to ignore submissions that do not follow our general requirements.
Beginning in 2022, select submissions from past and future contributors will be considered for the inaugural Project Gaia anthology! More info TBA.
writing submission guidelines:
We accept all forms and genres of writing, including poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, scientific essays, and hybrid pieces, as long as the issue's theme is engaged with in some way. We also accept reviews for articles and books pertaining to the environment, which do not need to adhere to the issue's theme.
Send all submissions to [email protected]om in a single Word (.docx) document. We appreciate 12-pt, Times New Roman font. Please format the subject line for your submission as follows: [Writing]-[Genre]-[Full Name]. For example: [Writing]-[Poetry]-[John Doe].
Please include up to six pieces in each submission.
Please include a cover letter along with a short third-person bio in the body of your email.
We accept simultaneous submissions.
We consider only previously unpublished work.
We kindly ask that contributors cite Gaia should their pieces appear elsewhere.
We are unable to pay our contributors; however, we will do our best to support you in your future endeavors.
